Verbūnai Elderly Care Home, established in a former school in Šiauliai district, is a modern and cozy social care institution for the elderly and adults with disabilities. This home provides an opportunity not only to receive the necessary care, but also to live with dignity and in a community environment. The institution accommodates up to 44 residents, who are provided with long-term and short-term social care services.
The basis of the care home’s activities is to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the residents, where their physical, emotional and social needs would be met. The services provided include accommodation, catering, nursing, healthcare, personal hygiene and various leisure and employment activities. Special attention is paid to the emotional well-being of the residents – art therapy, music and art classes are organized, strengthening their emotional well-being and encouraging creativity. Community gatherings, celebrations, and cultural events are also organized to ensure active social life.
The care home fosters close ties with the local community, involves volunteers, cultural and educational institutions in activities. This not only helps to build social ties between residents, but also supports their communication skills and independence. The care home responds to the growing need for social services in Lithuania and provides residents with conditions to feel full-fledged and dignified members of the community in their country.
